Negative prices in network pricing games

نویسندگان

چکیده

In a Stackelberg network pricing game leader sets prices for given subset of edges so as to maximize profit, after which one or multiple followers choose shortest path. Our main result shows that the profit when allowing negative can be factor ?(log?(m?k¯)) larger than maximum with only positive prices, where m is number priceable and k¯?2m followers. particular, this cannot bounded single follower.

Adding Negative Prices to Priced Timed Games

Priced timed games (PTGs) are two-player zero-sum games played on the infinite graph of configurations of priced timed automata where two players take turns to choose transitions in order to optimize cost to reach target states. Bouyer et al. and Alur, Bernadsky, and Madhusudan independently proposed algorithms to solve PTGs with nonnegative prices under certain divergence restriction over pric...

Monopoly Pricing with Negative Network Effects : the

We study the market for vaccinations considering income heterogeneity on the demand side and monopoly power on the supply side. A monopolist has an incentive to exploit the external effect of vaccinations and leave the poor susceptible in order to increase the willingness to pay of the rich. Even the possibility to perfectly price discriminate does not remove this incentive. Pigouvian subsidies...

Effect of Pricing Intervals on Congestion-Sensitivity of Network Prices

One of the key issues for implementing congestion pricing is the pricing granularity (i.e. pricing interval or time-scale). The Internet traffic is highly variant and hard to control without a mechanism that operates on very low time-scales, i.e. on the order of round-trip-times (RTTs). However, pricing naturally operates on very large time-scales because of human involvement. Moreover, structu...

Option Pricing on Commodity Prices Using Jump Diffusion Models

In this paper, we aim at developing a model for option pricing to reduce the risks associated with Ethiopian commodity prices fluctuations. We used the daily closed Unwashed Lekempti grade 5 (ULK5) coffee and Whitish Wollega Sesame Seed Grade3 (WWSS3) prices obtained from Ethiopia commodity exchange (ECX) market to analyse the prices fluctuations. The natures of log-returns of the prices exhibit a...

Marginal cost pricing for Atomic Network Congestion Games

We study optimal tolls for network congestion games where players aim to route certain amount of traffic between various source destination pairs. We consider weighted atomic users, unsplittable traffic and arbitrary nondecreasing latency functions. Users are selfish and want to follow routes that minimize their respective latencies. We focus on pure Nash equilibria. A Nash equilibrium profile ...
